Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Anambra State Governor, reassured of his personal and administration’s commitment to more advancements in the education sector.
Soludo gave the assurance when he paid a working visit to his alma mater, Uga Boys Secondary School, Uga in Aguata Local Government Area.
The Governor was the pioneer senior prefect of the school, 49 years ago.
After a being conducted round the school premises, the Governor promised to re-invent the school, draw up its master plan, build full boarding facilities, provide functional solar-powered boreholes, among others, in tune with his administration’s drive to build smart schools.
While recalling his government’s investments in education including the recruitment of 8115 teachers, the Governor expressed gladness that students’ enrolment has increased as a result.
Professor Soludo promised to pay the fees for Basic Education Certificate Examination, BECE, and West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, WASSCE in the school for the next five years.

Joachin Anaeto, Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Mayor, Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Oforbuike, member representing Aguata constituency one at the state House of Assembly, Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke and his Aguata constituency two counterpart, Hon. Tony Muobike, Chairman Post Primary School Service Commission, Prof. Nkechi Ikediugwu, Traditional Ruler of Uga joined the Governor on the visit.
