After a series of fun, and entertaining events tonight in the French city of Paris, the Inter Miami star Lionel Messi was named the winner of the prestigious Ballon d’Or for the 8th time, the award was presented to him by ex-football legend David Beckham.
The former Paris Saint-Germain star last season, captained Argentina to the World Cup in Qatar last December, ending a 36-year wait for the South American country. Messi, 36, has won the award three times more than anyone else.
While he was making his speech after accepting the award, he encouraged his colleagues Erling haaland and kylian mbappe to keep doing their best and assured them the Ballon d’Or will be theirs one day.
