Anambra To Unveil Electricity Market Soon – Power And Water Resources Commissioner, Chukwuemeka

Anambra State Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, says that the State government will soon unveil an electricity market to cater for the energy needs of Ndi Anambra.

Speaking to Journalist in his office in Awka, Engineer Chukwuemeka who described Governor Chukwuma Soludo as a jinx breaker who is innovatively and strategically developing all sectors of the state economy, said that the market will guarantee energy sustainability.

The Commissioner noted that the electricity market where everything electricity would be handled will give the state the opportunity to be fully in charge of its power generation, transmission, and distribution.

According to Engineer Chukwuemeka, the state will also establish the Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ANSERC) which will be in charge of energy regulation as well as Anambra State Electricity Management Agency (ASEMA), that would be saddled with the responsibility of managing the state’s electricity market.

He made it clear that all the initiatives are geared towards energy sustainability in Anambra, and as well in line with the Soludo administration’s policy of a clean, green and liveable homeland and that the market will harness all the renewable energy sources.
