World Humanitarian Workers Day: Hon. Azubuike Lauds Humanitarian Workers

The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South local government area, Hon. Shedrack Azubuike has lauded humanitarian workers in Orumba South, Anambra and Nigeria at large as the world celebrates 2024 Humanitarian Day.

Hon. Azubuike in his congratulatory message said, these set of people strive to make this world a better place, even though their lives are continuously at risk, they choose to save lives, stating that his administration recognizes the integrity of humanitarian workers in difficult areas.

Speaking on the theme of 2024 World Humanitarian Day which is Act For Humanity, he emphasized the critical need to uphold International humanitarian laws and guide those that risk their lives to deliver aid.

He added that every woman and every child deserves the best treatment and care, no matter their place of birth or their life circumstance, noting that world humanitarian day should not only be a day to celebrate the effects of humanitarian and aid workers, but also a day to cultivate and cement support for all displaced and missing persons across the globe.

While commending Anambra State First Lady, Mrs Nonye Soludo for her humanitarian work through the Healthy Living Initiative, he urged residents of Orumba South to embrace the initiative to remain healthy and longevity.
