The All Progressives Congress (APC) has threatened legal action against Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) over alleged irregularities in the upcoming local government elections.

In a press briefing at the party’s headquarters in Awka, APC State Chairman, Chief Sir Basil Ejidike, accused the State Government and ANSIEC of concealing critical information from stakeholders and questioned the legitimacy of recent amendments to the electoral law.

Ejidike cited several concerns, including the lack of transparency in the electoral process, biased amendments favoring the ruling party, and procedural issues such as the absence of a review of the voters’ register.

The APC has demanded a level playing ground, warning that it will not hesitate to take legal action if its concerns are ignored. The party’s legal adviser, Barr. Chinonso Chinwuba, also criticized the State Assembly’s amendments as contradictory to Nigerian law.

The situation is being closely monitored, with many watching to see how the events will unfold.
