In the spirit of the yuletide, the Mayor of Anaocha Council Area, Comrade Rome Ibekwe has donated food and living items to the Sickle Cell Orphanage And Underprivileged Home in Agulu.
Items donated include bags of rice and beans, tubers of yam, cartons of noodles, detergents, toiletries, and cash.
Accompanied by the Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the Local Government Area, Sir Anthony Ugorji, a stakeholder of the party, Chief Mrs Ngozi Obikwelu, and several others, Comrade Ibekwe told the members of the home that it has been his desire to visit them and monitor their wellbeing and to make sure that they have access to quality medical attention and food.
He expressed satisfaction with what he met on ground and called on affluent members of the society to join hands in giving members of the home a better life.
Appreciating the Mayor and his team, the Director of the Home, Aisha Edward-Maduagwu thanked him for uplifting members of the group by paying their schools fees, taking care of their medical expenses, and ensuring they live a better life.
Mrs Edward-Maduagwu also praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his wife who through the Commissioner of Health have reached out to severally.
Later, the Mayor, Comrade Ibekwe hosted all the women of his party, APGA from all the wards in the local government areas.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Ibekwe encouraged women leaders of the different wards to promote the achievements of Governor Soludo in just less than 30 months in office.
He noted that on his part as the Mayor of the council area, skill acquisition training and empowerment of their youths, Anaocha Mass Transit, and many other projects have taken off.
The event was attended by the woman leader of APGA in Anaocha LGA, Mrs Ijeoma Sunny -Egbuna.
