Suspected sea pirates have killed officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) along Bakana River in Degema Local Government of Rivers State.
It was learned that videos and photos showing the dead Civil Defence officers inside a speed boat anchored by a riverside have been circulating online
Details Of the circumstances that led to the encounter between the Civil Defence operatives and the sea pirates are not available at the time of filing this report.
Also, the identities of the fallen NSCDC officers have not been ascertained.
However, the Rivers Command of the security agency has not yet reacted on the issue despite repeated attempts made to confirm the incident.
