The Eze Igbo of Rivers and Bayelsa States, His Imperial Majesty, Engr. Sam Nwokolo, Eze Igbo, Eze-jiofor Ndigbo, has appealed to the former governor of Rivers state and now the minister of the Federal capital Territory Nyesom Wike to allow his successor Siminalayi Fubara, to focus on the task of governing the state.
Eze Nwokolo said while speaking to Ekwe Anaedo news that because Former governor Wike was instrumental to Fubara’s emergence as governor of Rivers state does not give Wike the right to control Fubara.
He said, “Because you groom someone and instrumental to the position that he is occupying does not mean that you will be controlling him anyhow like a statute or making him feel less a man”
According to the Eze Ndi Igbo, Fubara had approached Wike respectfully to complain about his interference and angered by Fubara’s boldness, Wike tried to impeach the governor.
He said the former governor erred by his action but assured Fubara that the people of Rivers state are with him adding Rivers state will be liberated from godfatherism. He urged Wike who has since been appointed as the minister of the FCT to focus on his national assignment and allow governor Fubara to do his work
Eze Nwokolo condemned some of the lawmakers for allowing themselves to be used by the former governor to cause confusion in the state. He wondered what they stood to gain if they tear down their home. He said he has bad for them, ‘They will not succeed because every single tribe, community and resident of the state is behind governor Fubara and advise them to turn a new leaf before it is too late
He however commended some senior police officers whose intervention prevented what could have been a tragedy as he alleged that they were attempts to harm the governor
