The Nigerian Union of Pensioners NUP has dismissed protests, contesting the appointment of Dr Chioma Ejikeme as the Executive Secretary of the Pensions Transition Arrangements Directorate PTAD.
Recall that Ejikeme was reappointed as the Executive Director by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu which a minute section of the body protested.
But the National body through a statement by the National President of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners NUP, Mr. Godwin Abumisi described as untrue contending that it was never discussed by the body in any general meetings of the union.
Abumisi further contended that the appointment of Ejikeme is a welcome development and a reward for the hard work of Ejikeme in ensuring the liquidation of outstanding payments and the prompt payment of pensions and other entitlements.
He also commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for the reappointment of Ejikeme urging him not to be distracted by those he called minute individuals who do not like due process in the workings of the body.
“I wish to commend His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President Federal Republic of Nigeria for the reappointment of Dr Chioma Ejikeme as the Executive Secretary (ES) of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD)”
“The said reappointment is well merited considering the work she has so ably done for the Pensioners in the prompt payment of our monthly pensions and attendance to other issues in the last four years”.
“Any protests against this reappointment have not been discussed or approved by the NUP of which I am the National President”, He said.
