Former House of Representatives member for Ideato North and South Federal Constituency, Paschal Obi, has officially left the Labour Party (LP) and rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Obi was formally received into the APC by the party’s State Executive Committee, led by Macdonald Ebere, after completing membership registration at his ward and local government levels.
Speaking at the event, Obi cited Governor Hope Uzodinma’s remarkable infrastructural development initiatives as the key reason for his decision to return to the APC. He also lauded the party’s leadership under Ebere for its excellent management, which he credited for the APC’s grassroots success in the recent local government elections.
The former lawmaker pledged unwavering support and loyalty to the party, promising to contribute actively to its progress.
In response, APC State Chairman Macdonald Ebere expressed gratitude to Obi for returning to the party, describing it as a commendable decision.
Notable political stakeholders from Ideato South accompanied Obi to the occasion.
Correspondents noted that Obi’s political journey has seen him switch affiliations multiple times, moving from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to APC, then to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), before joining the Labour Party, and now returning to the APC.
