A civil Rights Leader and Public Affairs Analyst Israel Joe has called for the arrest and interrogation of Muslim Cleric Ahmed Gumi. In an interview with Ekwe Anaedo News, Joe said Gumi, statement that Nigeria is not safe if left in the hands of Christians is capable of causing religious crisis in the country. Gumi also condemned the appointment of Nyesom Wike as FCT Minister
He said “how can DSS keep quiet and this man is walking free after making such dangerous comments capable of causing trouble in the country. Continuing he said if it was an Ibo man he would have been picked up by the DSS’
He gave an example of an Igbo leader who made a comment about IPOB and was arrested an still in detention and wondered why are there sacred cows in Nigeria
On Asari Dokubo’s attacks on Gumi and Tinubu over Tinubu’s one sided appointment, Joe said the ex-Militant does have not have the right to criticized.afterall he sold the muslim-muslim ticket to people of the Niger- Delta region
The Niger Delta militant leader bemoaned the nature of President Bola Tinubu’s appointments.
Dokubo lamented that Tinubu’s appointments were lopsided and dangerous to the well-being of Nigeria.
In a viral video, Asari condemned controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, over his attack on Nyesom Wike’s appointment as Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister.
While saying that FCT belongs to all Nigerians, Dokubo wondered why Gumi would think that the nation’s capital belong to only Muslims.
Joe also did not spare the DSS calling them a tool in the hands of the president otherwise he said “why is Nnamdi Kanu still in detention while someone like sheik Gumi is a free man, he queried”
Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a former army captain, a prominent Muslim cleric and acting as a self-appointed middleman between government and kidnappers in the north is known for his divisive comments on issues in the country.
In May 2021he helped brokered the release of 27 students abducted in March from a forestry college in Kaduna state.
Such is his influence that the parents of the freed students paid him a “thank you” visit where he assured that 16 other students abducted from Greenfield University in Kaduna state in April, would not be killed.
