The Special Adviser to Anambra State State Governor on Youth Reformation, Dr. Nelson Omenugha has taken the state government’s Youth Reformation campaign to the Chinua Achebe International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri, with the unveiling of strategic public messaging displays designed to inspire responsible citizenship, patriotism and greater contributions to the development of the state.

The activation featured two prominent messages strategically placed at the airport’s departure and arrival lounges, addressing travellers leaving Anambra and those returning home.

Confirming this in a statement issued to newsmen on Friday, Dr. Omenugha said at the departure lounge, the message, “What Have You Done to Make Anambra Greater?” challenges indigenes to reflect on their individual contributions to the state’s progress, regardless of where they live or work.

According to him, the message encourages Ndi Anambra to look beyond personal achievements and consider how their skills, businesses, innovations, community service and opportunities created for others can contribute to building a better state.

At the arrival lounge, another message, “Anambra Is Our Home,” was unveiled there, reinforcing the campaign’s emphasis on shared identity, pride and collective responsibility, reminding travellers that their connection to the state should extend beyond their physical presence.

He said the message also calls on residents and returning indigenes to protect public facilities, promote peace, uphold the values of the state and contribute to creating an environment that future generations can inherit with pride.

The unveiling was performed by the National President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), Prince Emeka Kalu, who commended Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for championing the Youth Reformation initiative.

Kalu also urged Ndi Anambra, particularly young people, to take an active role in the state’s development, stressing the importance of translating the campaign’s message into meaningful contributions to their communities.

The airport activation forms part of the vision of the Soludo administration to use Youth Reformation to promote positive values, character development, responsible citizenship and opportunities for young people.

The initiative also advances the message that building a greater Anambra requires contributions from citizens alongside government efforts, with individual conduct and everyday decisions playing a role in determining the state’s future.

Among those who witnessed the activation were the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the airport, Mr Martins Emeka Nwafor; the Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof. Kate Omenugha; and the Anambra State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Nonso Nwaebili, alongside members of the council’s state executive.

Student union presidents from tertiary institutions across Anambra State, academics, security personnel and media professionals were also present.

The organisers acknowledged the contributions of the airport management, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Bundu Group, Casaquil Luxury Homes and Properties, the Anambra State Police Command, Rt. Hon. Agbodike Paschal Arinze, Igwe Godson Onyediri of Lilu, Agbalusia Ngene Front and YanKontent Factory as partners and sponsors of the activation.

Dr. Omenugha said the campaign was a shared responsibility that should extend beyond the airport displays into the everyday lives of the people.

He urged Ndi Anambra to contribute to their communities, demonstrate good character, create value and take responsibility for the collective future of the state.

The campaign also carries the message, “I Bụ Ìfè Nke Obodo Gị,” encouraging individuals to become positive influences wherever they find themselves and ensure that their actions contribute to making Anambra greater.

The organisers expressed the hope that the messages displayed at the airport would serve as regular reminders to travellers and visitors that the progress of Anambra depends not only on government policies and projects but also on the conduct, commitment and contributions of its people.
