Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr has made history by becoming the first female artist from the country to cross the 1 billion views milestone on YouTube.

With this achievement, the 23-year-old singer has surpassed Yemi Alade’s previous record of 805 million views, making her the most viewed Nigerian female artist of all time on the video streaming platform.

A significant portion of Ayra Starr’s views came from her Grammy-nominated hit single Rush, which alone accounts for over 450 million views.

This milestone places Ayra Starr in the company of top Nigerian male artists who have also exceeded 1 billion views on YouTube, including Burna Boy, Flavour, Wizkid, Davido, Rema, CKay, Kizz Daniel, P-Square, Omah Lay, Fireboy, and Tekno.
