APGA Accuses APC of Withdrawing from Anambra Local Government Election to Avoid Defeat

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) withdrew from the upcoming local government election in Anambra State to avoid defeat.

According to Chinedu Obigwe, National Coordinator of the APGA Media Forum, the APC’s withdrawal indicates a lack of confidence in winning the election.

Obigwe stated, “Anambra APC is running away from their already foreseen defeat.

Since Basil Ejidike took over as Anambra APC Chairman, they have never won any election in Anambra.”

He recalled a 2017 incident where APC members confessed to former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo that the party does not exist in Anambra State.

The APGA Media Forum coordinator accused the APC chairman, Basil Ejidike, of attempting to cover up his party’s weakness by withdrawing from the election.

Despite the APC’s withdrawal, the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has confirmed that the election will proceed as scheduled on September 28th.
