Nigerian joined the rest of the world to usher in 2024 with prayers, fireworks, and hopes for a better 2024.

Christians trooped into churches for worship and also to spend the last moments of 2023 with their families, loved ones, and fellow believers.

As the clock hit midnight, shouts of “Happy New Year” echoed everywhere with firecrackers adorning the early morning skyline.

Before Nigeria welcomed 2024, several nations across the globe had stepped into the New Year.

China, New Zealand, Australia, and Kiribati were some of the first nations to usher in the New Year

Residents of Auckland welcomed the New Year with a fireworks display over Sky Tower, New Zealand’s tallest structure.

Back here in Nigeria the day is a public holiday and church services are expected to held across the country the first in the year

The federal had declared December 25, 26 2023 and January 1 2024 public holidays to mark the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
