Kaduna state government has received Principal Officers of the Nigerian Senate led by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Jibrin Barau, who were in Kaduna to condole with the government and people of Kaduna State over the unfortunate Tudun Biri military drone attack.
The Senate leadership joined the call for thorough investigation into the unfortunate incident and assured us that the Senate Committee on Army chaired by Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua are already investigating the matter.
The 109 Senators donated their December salaries amounting to N109 Million to the families of the victims of the unfortunate incident.
While thanking the Distinguished Senators for standing with Kaduna State in our moment of grief, Governor Sami urged them to take a critical look at the nation’s laws and update them in order to strengthen security agencies.
He also canvassed for the creation of State Police.
“In the 9th Senate, I sponsored a bill for creation of State Police, which was passed by the Senate, but did not receive the concurrence of the House of Representatives. State Police would be more effective in intelligence gathering. With State Police, the Tudun Biri intelligence failure would have been averted”.
