The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Anambra South Senatorial District, Prince Samben Nwosu, has expressed confidence in his chances of winning the 2027 election, saying his victory would be a reflection of the confidence the people have in his vision for the zone.
Nwosu stated this on Tuesday, September 29, during a media chat at his residence in Ndiakwu Otolo, Nnewi, in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He said his interest in politics was not borne out of a desire for political office, but from his longstanding commitment to encouraging young entrepreneurs and helping small businesses grow.
According to him, he had been involved in supporting businesses even before declaring his political ambition.
As a Certified Business Developer, Nwosu said he had assisted several nano businesses to access grants and loans through the Bank of Industry, adding that he would do more for the people of Anambra South if elected to the Senate.
“I am coming to serve. I already know what my people need. My job has always been making people rich. It is in me because of my humble beginning. I am going there to make a change,” he said.
Nwosu also expressed dissatisfaction with what he described as the current state of representation in Anambra South, promising to provide what he termed better representation if elected.
He said his aspiration was driven by the desire to serve the common good of the people rather than personal interests.
The PDP candidate further expressed confidence that vote buying and electoral malpractice would not determine the outcome of the 2027 general election.
“Vote buying didn’t work in Osun State, therefore it is not going to work in 2027 general elections. Our people’s eyes are now open. Electoral malpractices would not stand this time around,” he said.
Nwosu said he would remain accessible to the people if elected, promising to pursue development and a different approach to representation.
“I am accessible. My doors are open for all. As a simple man, my goal remains to attract meaningful development to my zone, Anambra South.
“I am not going to the Senate because of the privileges attached, but to bring a brand-new style of representation rooted in selfless service, availability and result-oriented leadership,” he stated.
He also expressed confidence in his ability to connect with voters across the senatorial district, saying his familiarity with the people would work in his favour during the election.
“I am not afraid of my contenders because I understand the game. People will surely vote for Prince Samben Nwosu, a man they understand and can walk to at any time,” he said.
The senatorial candidate used the opportunity to announce the official flag-off of his campaign for Friday, October 2, 2026.
