Anambra woman, Mrs Ifeoma Onyemee, from Eziama village, Uli, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, has accused two operatives of Agunechemba security outfit in Uli community, Mr. Kenneth Obiwulu (aka Udo) and Mr. AK Irobi (aka AK) of orchestrating plans to eliminate her husband to cover up their alleged atrocious deeds in the community.

Speaking with journalists on Sunday, September 6, Mrs Onyemee said that her husband, Mr. Chimobi Onyemee, on July 24, 2026, forwarded a petition to the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Security, as well as the office of the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, detailing numerous atrocities allegedly perpetrated by the duo of AK Irobi and Kenneth Obiwulu in Uli community, under the platform of Agunechemba security outfit.

Madam Onyemee regretted that instead of facing the allegations of crimes against humanity levelled against them, the security operatives came up with frivolous allegations of murder against her husband, and took him Awkuzu, to the headquarters of Rapid Response Squad (RSS) formerly known as SARS.

She said, “Precisely on July 24, 2026, my husband, Chimobi Onyemee, sent a petition to the Anambra Police Commissioner, as well as Prince Ken Emeakayi, who is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Security. In that petition, my husband detailed every evil thing these people are doing in the name of Agunechemba Community Security in Uli.

“Specifically, the two were accused of operating private cells in their houses and in the bushes around Uli, where they detain their victims and collect money running into millions of naira as ransom. They were also accused of extra judicial killings, maliciously destroying people’s houses while tagging their victims “unknown gunmen”, among other accusations. My husband took that step because these two men destroyed his house and threatened to kill him.

“After forwarding the petitions, the former CP could not take actions on it before his retirement. Then, we mobilized the ‘Lion Building’ (Agunechemba headquarters in Awka) in the sum of N250,000, based on their request, to bring the two men for questioning and possible prosecution. The petition is close to two months now, and the two men are still going about their businesses freely.

“Instead of facing the allegations against them with courage, what AK and Udo did was to lure my husband, through his friend, Mr. Henry (aka Ezeanayo-ayo), and arrested him. They took him to Awkuzu SARS, and claimed that my husband murdered a man in Uli in 2022, about 4 years ago. Today, being Sunday, September 6, Ak and Udo paid a certain woman from Uli heavily to accompany them to Awkuzu and Awka to claim that my husband widowed her four years ago.

“I was surprised at this turn of events, because, I believe that their motive is to silence and possibly eliminate my husband in order to cover-up their numerous mess and atrocities in Uli community. If my husband killed anybody since 2022, which police station was the matter reported? None! Was the matter reported in any police crime diary? No! Was my husband declared wanted after the incident since 2022? No! What then is the motive behind this allegation – to silence my husband and make sure they come out of the hook!”

Mrs Onyemee further claimed that her husband, before AK and Udo destroyed his house, was a toll collector for the government agency in charge of agricultural produce; but later joined the OCHA Brigade as ad-hoc staff in Onitsha.

She also expressed worry that community leaders and government functionaries in Uli are aware of atrocities being perpetrated by AK and Udo, but have refused to speak out, probably because of fear.

She beckoned on Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the police IGP, Mr. Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and relevant civil society and human right organizations across Nigeria and overseas for urgent intervention, saying that further delay on the matter would be too dangerous to contemplate.

When contacted, the Officer-in-Charge/Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Awkuzu, Anambra State, CSP Orebe Chidubem Mathew, confirmed that Mr. Onyemee Chimobi is in their custody, but, however, declined further information.

Meanwhile, efforts made to speak with the security operatives – AK Irobi and Kenneth Obiwulu were not successful as at the time of filing this report, as their phone numbers were not available.
