Valentine Ozigbo Remembers Late Mrs Virginia Arinze As A ‘Noble Mother Of Virtue’ As She’s Laid To Rest

The Arinze family of Ebenebe gathered to bid farewell to their matriarch, Late Chief Mrs Virginia Arinze née Anaegbune, known as Akwuete Nwanyi, who passed away at the age of 80.

Among the distinguished guests were His Excellency Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party Presidential Candidate and former Governor of Anambra State, and Valentine Ozigbo, a respected business leader and a 2021 Anambra Governorship Candidate.

The funeral mass, led by the Most Revd. Paulinus Ezeokafor, Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, brought together friends and family from around the globe to pay homage to a woman celebrated for her humility, resilience, and ingenious spirit.

In his remarks, Mr. Ozigbo offered a heartfelt eulogy, extolling the virtues of the late Mrs. Arinze and expressing his deep condolences to the family.

Mr. Ozigbo reflected on Mrs. Arinze’s impact, recalling her as a pivotal figure in his life and campaign and a beacon of guidance and strength.

“Madam Ebenebe was a cornerstone in our community, a noble mother whose values and virtues we should strive to uphold,” Ozigbo said.

“It’s never easy to lose a loved one. We are, however, consoled that our mother lived a rich and full life and impacted positively on all who let her. She left a legacy of service and love, and that’s a legacy to be proud of.”

The late Mrs. Arinze, affectionately known as Mama Ebenebe, was remembered for her remarkable life journey, including surviving a kidnapping ordeal.

Her son, Very Revd. Fr. Paul Ugochukwu, residing in the United States, offered a vote of thanks at the funeral mass, announcing donations from the Arinze family and friends to the church and a local mission school in memory of their beloved mother.

As the community mourns the loss of a cherished figure, Mr. Ozigbo’s message resonated with those gathered, offering solace and reminding them of the enduring legacy left by Mrs. Arinze.

“In these moments of grief, let us find comfort in her lasting impact and the memories she leaves behind,” Ozigbo admonished.
