Igwe Dunukofia Confers Title To Shettima, Ganduje As He Celebrate 32nd Ukpo Ofala

His Royal Majesty Igwe Dr. Robert C. Eze,
(Okofi VI), Igwe Ukpo&Clan Head of Dunukofia Ancient Kingdom,The traditional ruler of Ukpo kingdom, has bestowed the titles of Enyi Ndigbo and Agunechemba Ndigbo on the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima and the National Chairman of the All Progressives congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The Chieftaincy titles were conferred on the two leaders By His Majesty Igwe Dr. Robert C. Eze (Okofi VI) during the 32nd Ofala festival of Ukpo Dunukofia on Saturday 23rd Dec 2023.

1 of Ndigbo means “Lion that protects Igbo people”, and Enyi Ndigbo mean “Friend of the Igbo People”.

The festival which was Organised and sponsored by Prince Arthur Eze, in his response he thanks the Vice-President, National Chairman of APC, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, Senator Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State, the IGP Kayode Egbetokun and Governor Peter Mba of Enugu State, for their support and also finding time to be at his home town Ukpo Dunukofia.

His Majesty Igwe said, the chieftaincy title was conferred on Ganduje because he is one of the leading de-tribalized politicians in Nigeria and how protected the Igbos while he was governor of Kano State.

Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu and IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, were present at the event.

Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was accompanied by the Vice Chairman South East, Dr Ijeomah Arodiogbu, Deputy Publicity Secretary Hon. Duro Meseko, his Chief of Staff, Muhamamdu Garba and Arc. Aminu Dabo.

Earlier the Chairman Dunukofia Museum Project Committee, Ichie Sir Izuchukwu Nwabueze said, that Dunukofia museum project has received approval for commencement and is seen to be one of the prides of Dunukofia kingdom which will be a memorial for the hard work of this generation and generations to come.

He also said, that the financial contributions have been requested by the Dunukofia National Congress and the museum project will be of Son’s and friends of Ukpo. He also said that estimated cost of the project is about N589Million”. He added.
