Prof Kate Omenugha, The New Vice Chancellor Of Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State, has Unveiled her New Vision For The University.
The newly appointed Acting vice chancellor who also emphasized building a new moral code for students of the university and youths generally, vowed to hit the ground running, with her key reforms that are geared towards the university’s visibility and viability.
On her resumption on Tuesday as the first female Acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University, Omenugha has said that her time as Acting Vice Chancellor would be marked by increased visibility and viability of the university.
In an interview with EkweAnaedo shortly after a courtesy call by the youth wing of Anambra State Association of Town Unions – ASATU, led by Comrade Ken Okoli, Prof Omenugha highlighted renewal of the value system for youths, as a critical step in redirecting Anambra youths and keeping them focused on what matters in education sectors.
On her vision for the University in her new role, Prof Omenugha said that her vision is anchored on the visibility and viability of the university. “There are challenges, but my vision is anchored on visibility and viability of the university and we are determined to take every step to ensure that Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University experiences remarkably increased visibility and viability”, she assured.
Founded about twenty-three years ago, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University is still a work in progress, just like many of its contemporaries. However, the assurance of increased visibility and viability by the incoming Acting Vice Chancellor means that the quality of teaching, research, and learning will improve to appreciably higher standards. It also implies that to a remarkable extent, the environmental and aesthetic challenges, as well as the infrastructure demands of the institution, will be noticeably addressed. It appears to be a growth time for the universities in Anambra state to take a lift for us”. She added.
