The Delta Police Command on Monday paraded three suspected kidnappers and recovered four AK-47 rifles.
The suspects are being held at the police headquarters in Asaba, the Public Relations Officer in the command, DSP Bright Edafe, stated that kidnapping has been in the high in the State.
“You will recall that a few days ago, the Commissioner of Police, Wale Abass, personally briefed you on the summary of the Command’s duties and success from July 1, 2023, to September 30, 2023.

“This recent achievement has been demonstrated the Command’s preparedness for effective policing during the ember months and beyond.
“Kidnapping being a crime of concern in the State is being dealt with thoroughly through our responsive policing interventions
According to Edafe, on October 13, 2023, the Divisional Police Officer, Oreorokpe, mobilized men of the Divisional Anti-Crime Patrol team, stormed Ofuoma in Ughelli North LGA, where two male suspects; James Aboyo 21, and one Solomon Gbolode were arrested for their involvement in the incident.

Edafe added that the team proceeded to search the premises and hideout where one Blessing Deco 22, was arrested while other gang members who sighted the police team, vanished in thin air.
The suspects are presently assisting police investigation while a manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang is ongoing.
Edafe said items recovered from the suspects include four AK-47 rifles, a pump action gun, five packs of improvised explosives, and 58 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and others
