The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Olukayade Ariwoola yesterday inaugurated 58 new senior advocates of Nigeria at the supreme court. The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola in his keynote address at the event said that time has come for Nigerians to pursue alternative dispute resolutions as this will help free the courts of unnecessary over-stretching of both human and material resources.
Justice Ariwoola who gave the advice during the commencement of the Supreme Court’s 2023/2024 legal year and conferment of the rank of Senior advocates of Nigeria on 58 senior lawyers, also noted that there was the need to collectively build a virile legal framework to effectively grow the country.
It’s however worthy to note, that the Industrial town of Nnewi got two senior advocates in the persons of Chikaosolu Ojukwu and Oseloka Osigwe. Nnewi indigenes came in their numbers to honor their own in their various venues for the reception of this grand honor in the legal profession.
On the sidelines of the event, Dr Mrs Ngozi Ukachukwu, the aunt to Chikaosolu Ojukwu described him as a selfless personality whose interest is for the people and not even himself. She stressed that for Chikaosolu Ojukwu despite everything has always strived to be the best and thanked God for giving him the grace to be a senior advocate. She however advised him to continue in the spirit of helping the poor and needy with his new position as he has always done.
Chief Chika Emenike, the CEO of Tummy Tummy Noddles who was visibly present at the event also thanked God for the new honor bestowed on Nnewi,and prayed that the duo of Chikaosolu Ojukwu and Oseloka Osigwe will do their best in their new found position in the legal profession.
In the same vein, Ichie Sunday Ezeobiora thanked God for the honor bestowed on them,a d tasked them to continue to impact lives positively for the well being of not just Ndi Nnewi but every human being that comes their way.
Speaking further, Bentrand Onwnzo(IBK) thanked God for the upliftment of Chikaosolu Ojukwu and Oseloka Osigwe in their chosen profession. He said that” we are happy that our sons were uplifted to this enviable position in their practice as lawyers. We urge them to put in their best to continue seeking justice for the people.”
Also, the son of Prince Abyssinia Akweke Nwafor Orizu, Onwa Nwfor Orizu thanked God for the upliftment of Chikaosolu Ojukwu and Oseloka Osigwe on their position as senior advocates of Nigeria. He said it’s a good omen for Nnewi, as both of them have been a strong in the legal profession. He therefore called on them to do more now, a new position has been given to them, as whom much is given much is expected.
