Immediate past Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Chief Damian Okeke Ogene has stated that among the sixteen gubernatorial candidates for the November 8th election Gov Charles Soludo has a greater chances in g wining the poll.
Ogene explained that in view of the huge infrastructural development being put in place by the governor in less than four years he has better chances of being reelected for the second term in office.
He further commended what he called the healthy contest among the candidates and political parties noting that politics in Anambra state has never been violent since it’s creation and urged the contestants to continue in that stade.
Ogene further observed that the achievements of Soludo is on the account of the governor being consoles of the fact that he can only secure a second term of only hit the ground running which according to him he is doing.
“The gubernatorial election contest in Anambra state has been very healthy and that is what Anambra state is known for”
“Everything in Anambra is contested for even at the Village meeting level and that shows that democracy is in action and we are beginning to have true democracy here in Anambra state”
Ogene further dismissed the rumor that the November 8th gubernatorial election would be manipulated contending that it is not possible in Anambra state.
“The issue of rigging is minimal in Anambra state to compare with other states and election in Anambra state is eighty percent democratic and free and fair in Anambra state”
“That is why everyone of campaigning including the incumbent governor and he knows so he stated from day one to work and knows that it is not going to be a work over so in the past three and half years he had been working so that he can get reelected for the second term in office”
“,Those who are coming in are preparing so it is a healthy situation and at the end the Anambra people know what they want and what people are looking for is developmental projects being executed”
“Our people use to say that if you perform well the reward is that you get reelected or given bigger appointment”
“So for instance in Awka Capital City it has been difficult in the past but today Awka people can attest to the fact that the governor is doing well based on the new look of Awka in terms of basic infrastructures”
“You can see today that Awka people are saying Soludo is working and this can be attested to in most parts of Anambra state”
“There is that inter connectivity in the area of road network and power supply and then most places that never believed that development can come down to their villages are celebrating and this is being done because the governor knows that it is only the good works that can guarantee him a second term in office”
“So the governor has great milage over and above other candidates”he noted.
