…Declares Anambra In Darkness, Promises Light And Hope.
Ambassador Sir Jude Ezenwafor, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, was warmly welcomed in Nnobi community during a recent visit that combined both personal and political engagements.
The visit started with a joyful reception in Nnobi, where community members, market women, youths, and local leaders gathered to welcome the PDP flagbearer. Many described the homecoming as emotional and significant, as the people came out in large numbers to show love to one of their own.
Ambassador Ezenwafor was not alone. He was accompanied by top members of the PDP including:
Barrister Chukwudi Francis, PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate,
Prince Chinedu Nsofor, Programs Director of the Anambra Youth Millionaires Program and several party leaders and dignitaries.
The PDP entourage later attended the burial ceremony of the late father-in-law of High Chief Okwudili Ugochukwu (popularly called Ugochimereze Nnobi). The event was held to honor the deceased and support the grieving family.
While speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Ezenwafor said, “As a grassroots-oriented leader, I came here to support my dear friend and brother, High Chief Okwudili Ugochukwu, and also to stand beside my boss and brother, Chief Sir Tony Ezeala.
He is not just a mentor but also my in-law, and I hold him in the highest regard.”
“In Igbo land, when we say ‘Nwa bu uzo’—that the child is the way—it means the younger ones are the future. I stand by that with all my heart.
Later during his speech to supporters and guests, Ambassador Ezenwafor made a bold statement about the state of governance in Anambra.
His words: “Anambra is in darkness. Our people are suffering. There is too much hunger, and insecurity is everywhere. It’s time to bring light into this state.”
He promised a better future for the people if elected, adding:
“I want to lead Anambra into a new era—a time of safety, prosperity, and dignity. We will support our youths, grow our economy, and make sure people don’t go to bed hungry.”
“No government can provide real security when the people are starving. We will bring what I call stomach infrastructure—food, empowerment, and development. You cannot mine gold on an empty stomach.”
He ended his speech with a promise of hope:
“This is the end of darkness. It is time for a new beginning. We will light up every part of Anambra.”
The Nnobi outing was not only a condolence visit but also served as a major stop on the PDP campaign trail. Many see it as a turning point in Ambassador Ezenwafor’s mission to reconnect with the grassroots and offer real solutions to the problems facing Anambra.
With his strong words and warm reception, the PDP candidate has once again positioned himself as a man of the people; ready to lead with compassion, courage, and clarity.
