As campaign for 2025 Anambra governorship election kicks-off today, Wednesday 11th June, the Anambra State Signage And Advertisement Agency has pegged campaign mandatory requirement permit fee at fifty million naira per political party.
Addressing the press in his office in Awka, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ANSAA, Mr. Tony Odili-Ujubuonwu, explained that the campaign permit allows political parties the right to deploy their campaign materials and activities using posters, public address systems, brandied vehicles, banners, fliers, T-shirts, Caps, rallies among others in locations across the cities, villages, and communities in the twenty one local government areas of the state.
The ANSAA Managing Director further noted that they expect all campaign materials intended for outdoor display by political parties and candidates, advertising agencies and advertising pratictioners to have been vetted by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria before they are posted.
He further appealed to all political parties, their supporters, and general public to be considerate of other users of the advertising and visual promotion space in the state and refrain from defacing the campaign materials of opponents, as such actions are unacceptable and contrary to the principles of fair democratic engagement.
Mr. Odili-Ujubuonwu equally appreciated all political parties for the peaceful conducts of their primary elections and for maintaining decorum across the state, adding that it is their hope that the peaceful and orderly approach continues into the campaign season for the 2025 gubernatorial election.
The Managing Director thanked Ndi Anambra and Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the support they are giving the agency in making the state a prosperous, liveable and digitally driven homeland.
The Anambra State Signage And Advertisement Agency was crested by the State government and established by law for the purpose of regulating the use of out-of-home advertising structures, control outdoor structures to be used for signage and advertisement across the state.
The agency is also empowered to issue permits and licenses for the construction and deployment of signage and advertisements.
