Anambra CP Orutugu Commends Igbo Youths Over Peaceful Biafra Day Anniversary

Anambra Police Commissioner Ikioye Orutugu PhD has commended the youths of Igbo extraction under the umbrella of Igbo Youth Stakeholders for the display of maturity during the recent Biafra Day anniversary noting that what the South East needs for sustainable development is peace.

Orutugu who made this commendation at his office when a delegation of Igbo Youth Stakeholders paid him a courtesy visit.

“I wish to commend you all and the entire youths of the South East especially in Anambra state for the display of maturity during the May 30 Biafra Day celebration and for your strict compliance to the zero tolerance to violence on the said day ” he said.

In their response, the leader of the delegation, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu thanked the CP and pledged greater cooperation and support to the Command and other Security agencies in the State.

“He also hinted the Command of the proposed Igbo Youth Stakeholders Convention to be held in the State to brainstorm on general issues concerning the Southeast, most especially security.

On behalf of other Security Agencies to receive the delegates with the CP was the Anambra State Director of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr Daniel Onyishi, who encouraged the Youth body to be of good conduct during the Convention and wished them meaningful deliberations during the Event.

He also reiterated the commitment of all the Security agencies in the fight against any form of crime and urged the Youth Stakeholders to join voices in condemning any act that threatens our national peace in the State.
