~Doles Out 2M For The Support Of The Summit, Five Hundred Thousand To Launch Book Published By The Youth Leader And Promises Five Hundred Thousand Each To Some Selected Orumba Youth To Support Their Businesses.
Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, the APGA frontrunner aspirant for Anambra South senatorial by-election, attended the Orumba North APGA Youth Summit theme, “Politics as a Service to Humanity: Towards Changing the Political Narrative of Orumba North.”
The event, which attracted a vibrant crowd of young leaders, Orumba North Local Government Chairman, the local government party chairman of Orumba North, party stakeholders, Orumba North political appointees, some elected councillors and community members aimed to inspire a new direction in political engagement and leadership within the region.
Addressing the enthusiastic audience, Chief Dr. Onunkwo emphasized the urgent need to reimagine politics not as a tool for personal gain but as a genuine service to humanity. He noted that the future of Orumba North and Anambra South at large depends on the active participation of youth who are committed to ethical leadership and people-centered governance. “We must collectively reject the politics of self-interest and embrace service to humanity as our guiding principle,” he said.
He went further to admonish the youth and political actors in the region to see politics as a responsibility rather than a privilege. Chief Dr. Onunkwo encouraged them to become agents of positive change by engaging in initiatives that promote development, transparency, and inclusive governance. According to him, the old order of politics rooted in greed and manipulation must give way to a new dawn of integrity and purpose.
Chief Dr Ebuka Onunkwo also used the medium to officially inform the youths and stakeholders present in the event of his recent empowerment of Nine ( 9) youths through slots that he attracted through the office of Ministry of Youth Development which according to him, were shared across the seven local governments of Anambra South and the beneficiaries are currently undergoing their training in Enugu State with their feedings and accommodation taken care of.
“Empowering the youths and philanthropisim is in my blood and I have been doing this for over 20 years, because it gives me joy to see our youth prosper and meaningfully engaged with something; if we continue to create more jobs for the youth, we will reduce unemployment and restiveness among them and have a crime free society” Dr. Onunkwo stated.
He also admonished the youths to ensure they have something doing even while they play politics and directed the APGA Youth Leader Orumba North to screen the list of those that will receive the five hundred thousand naira to support their businesses and ensure those whose names appear have a verifiable address.
Chief Damian Okeke Ogene, the former National Vice President Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide; the Party Chairman of Orumba North, Hon Cyril Nwobu; Mayor of Orumba North Hon Casmir Nwafor and other powerful stakeholders that graced the event all in a special way thanked and appreciated Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo for his generosity towards the people, especially youths, and wished him success in his senatorial journey.
The summit ended on a hopeful note, with participants expressing gratitude for Chief Dr. Onunkwo’s consistent leadership and vision for a transformed Orumba North and Anambra South. His message resonated deeply with the attendees, reinforcing a growing movement among APGA youths to reshape the political landscape with fresh ideas and a commitment to serving the people.
