The Mayor of Idemili South local government area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), has commended Anambra State First Lady, Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo for launching second phase of Healthy Living Organic Garden programme for communities and secondary schools and Inaugurated fresh set of 100 Healthy Living Ambassadors for secondary schools.
Hon. Obi made this commendation after the event, urging families to embrace home gardening which she said, it is a vital tool for achieving food security and economic empowerment.
She said that agriculture will begin at home with every family playing a role in food production, stating that Mama Anambra has done so much for women and children in the state by empowering and equipping women to be self-reliant and employers of labour.
While stating that healthy living garden is designed to encourage households to cultivate small gardens, ensuring access to fresh produce and to reduce dependence on expensive market-bought food, she added that healthy living garden have the power to transform lives.
