The Sokoto State Police Command has apprehended three suspects linked to a theft case involving various valuables.
According to DSP Ahmad Rufai, PPRO, the incident occurred on May 8, 2024, when a resident of Mana Layout reported a break-in and theft at his residence.
The complainer reported at Unguwar Rogo Police Station that unknown persons had unlawfully trespassed into his residence and stolen the many items.
According to him,the stolen items includes one inverter freezer, One LG plasma TV, traveling bag containing various personal items,a lace fabric and atamfa,a set of bed sheets and One center carpet.
On a tip off, a tricycle rider was apprehended and provided information leading to the arrest of the principal suspect, one Musa Isah of Tamaje Area, Sokoto.
Its stated that a search was conducted at his residence, and all the listed stolen items were recovered.
During the search, officers also discovered a pilgrim box labeled with the name Amina Muhammad Lawal and a contact phone number.
Investigation was expanded, and the individual was contacted. She confirmed that on 12/02/2025, unknown individuals had broken into her residence at Sarda Quarters and carted away valuables estimated at ₦1,531,800.
The suspect confessed to the crime and identified his accomplice and receiver of the stolen goods, one Abbas Isah of Mabera Area, Sokoto.
A search conducted at his residence led to the recovered of Eight bags of rice, One brand new Kemage KM 4000 generator,one stainless steel vacuum flask and one stabilizer.
Other items recovered includes one Samsung tablet,15 pieces of male kaftans, One iPhone 14 handset, One box containing 22 wrappers and five lace materials, One handbag and three women’s purses,one bag of baby clothes and three sets of jewelry.
The suspect confessed to stealing the items from various locations within the city.
All suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police Sokoto, CP Ahmed Musa, psc commended the officers for their professionalism and dedication, urging them to continue their exemplary service.
He also called on residents of the Caliphate to support the police by providing credible information to help build a safer and more secure society.
