The Chief of Staff to Enugu State Governor, Barr. Victor Udeh has revealed that his Principal and Governor of the state, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has concluded plans to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Barr Udeh disclosed this while briefing newsmen shortly after organizing a factional Southeast stakeholders meeting at the Government House, Enugu.
According to the Chief of Staff, the Governor’s resolve to jilt the party on it.s platform he was elected the Governor of Enugu State was as a result of the stiff opposition against his preferred candidate for the position of National Secretary of the party, Rt. Hon Ude S.K Okoye.
He maintained that Governor Mbah had earlier summoned a meeting of his allies and political supporters in Enugu and informed them of his decision to pitch tent in the APC.
It can be recalled that Governor Mbah had resisted all efforts to instill unity, peace and cooperation in the PDP especially, in the Southeast geopolitical zone as the only PDP Governor in the region.
A Chieftain of PDP in the Southeast, Rt. Hon Chude Nwobodo blasted Governor Mbah for failing to bring political stability in the region due to his obvious selfishness, clannishness and administrative inexperienced.
Hon Nwobodo called on Governor Mbah to cover his face in shame for dragging the image of PDP to ridicule, expressing optimism that the party would heave sigh of relief once Mbah finally leaves PDP.
He warned that anyone PDP member working with Peter Mbah should be viewed as big spy in the party, and charged genuine party faithful not be deterred by Peter Mbah’s gimmicks to derail the party vision.
