Operatives of the Ebonyi State Police Command have apprehended a suspect, Ovuta Chigozie, from the Okoffia community in the Ezza South Local Government Area, who was discovered in possession of two human skulls and three locally made firearms.
The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday.
Ukandu stated that Chigozie confessed that he was given the human skulls for the preparation of a spiritual concoction.
“Authorities are actively pursuing the individual linked to this case,” he added.
The spokesman also disclosed that police in the state have recovered several stolen tricycles.
“While investigating a stolen tricycle, operatives uncovered a criminal syndicate that specialises in altering the colours of stolen tricycles from neighbouring states,” he explained.
He noted that this operation resulted in the arrest of four suspects: Nweke Chukwudi, Nwankwo Obinna, John Abba, and Uche Abba.
“Three stolen tricycles were recovered from the suspects, who confessed to receiving the vehicles from accomplices for colour modifications.”
“All suspects will be charged in court upon the completion of investigations,” he confirmed.
