There is no respite for native doctors arrested by the Anambra State Government for their alleged involvement in alleged criminal conduct for promoting money rituals and making charms for criminals in the State.

The Anambra State Government has expressed its determination to charge them before the Court for prosecution under the Anambra Homeland Security Law.

This was disclosed by the Anambra State Government through the Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, over the weekend in Awka while speaking over the matter.

He stated that the native doctors currently in its custody will be arraigned in court immediately after investigations are completed.

Dr. Mefor stated while speaking to the state-owned broadcast station, Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS and confirmed that the suspects were still in custody undergoing interrogation over their alleged conduct.

He stated that Professor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration is working hard towards restoring sanity in the state.

“The State Government is serious about its commitment to eradicating criminal activities in Anambra State. If the native doctors are convicted, they will be sentenced in accordance with the provisions of the new Anambra Homeland Security Law.”

He also clarified that Soludo’s administration is not opposed to traditional worship as misinterpreted by some people, but is instead focused on tackling crime and those who enable it including native doctors who prepare charms for criminals.
