In a bold move to enhance energy supply and drive industrial growth in Abia State, The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, hosted a high-level meeting with key players in Nigeria’s power sector. The meeting, which took place at the Government House, Umuahia, saw the convergence of top executives from Geometric Power Limited and Transcorp Power to discuss strategies for improving electricity distribution, particularly in the Ukwa area of the state.

The delegation was led by the Chairman of Geometric Power Limited, Prof. Barth Nnaji, and the Managing Director of Stanvian Energy and Transcorp Power, Afam, Engr. Vincent Ozoude. The discussions focused on practical steps to boost energy supply and foster productivity in the industrial hub of Ukwa, a region strategically positioned to benefit from increased power distribution.

Governor Otti, determined to actualize his administration’s vision of industrial transformation, emphasized the critical role of power supply in attracting investment and promoting economic growth. The Ukwa area, known for its untapped industrial potential, was identified as a priority for increased energy supply to stimulate productivity and create job opportunities.

The Honourable Commissioner for Power and Public Utilities, Engr. Ikechukwu Monday, and the Governor’s Technical Assistant on Power, Mr. Charles Egonye, were also present during the meeting. They provided technical insights and policy perspectives to ensure the successful implementation of the proposed initiatives.

The meeting underscored the importance of strategic collaboration between the state government and private sector players in addressing energy challenges. With Geometric Power’s experience in providing integrated power solutions and Transcorp Power’s capacity in energy generation, the partnership promises to bring a significant boost to Abia’s power infrastructure.
