The Member representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Omo’ba Okunjimi Odimayo, has extolled the legacy of Ondo State’s founding fathers as the state marks its 49th anniversary.
In his congratulatory message, Odimayo felicitated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the good people of Ondo State, commending the governor’s inclusive leadership and unwavering commitment to the state’s progress.
He acknowledged the developmental strides achieved under Aiyedatiwa’s administration, emphasising the need for collective efforts to build a more prosperous future.
“Ondo State remains a force in Nigeria’s socioeconomic landscape, standing tall in education, agriculture, and industrial growth. As we celebrate 49 years of statehood, we must honour the vision of our founding fathers and rededicate ourselves to the development of our dear state,” Odimayo stated.
“Ondo State, birthed from the old Western Region on 3rd February 1976, under the military administration of General Murtala Muhammed, has since its creation remained a centre of excellence, producing distinguished leaders, intellectuals, and entrepreneurs who have significantly contributed to national development.”
Reflecting on the journey so far, Odimayo urged indigenes to uphold the spirit of unity and hard work that has defined the state’s legacy.
He urged the people of Ondo State to remain steadfast in their support for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration, assuring them that brighter days lie ahead.
As the state approaches its golden jubilee, the lawmaker expressed optimism that Ondo would continue to shine as a beacon of progress and unity.
