The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially affirmed Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the leader of the party in Rivers State.
This development has again proven the governor’s growing influence and his central role in steering the affairs of the party within the state.
In a significant show of support, members of the NWC held a closed-door meeting with Governor Fubara at the Government House in Port Harcourt. While details of the discussions remain confidential, the meeting is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party’s unity and cohesion in Rivers State.
The affirmation comes amidst efforts by the PDP to solidify its presence in the state and ensure alignment between the party’s national and state leadership structures. Governor Fubara, who assumed office in 2023, has been at the forefront of efforts to drive development in Rivers State while maintaining strong ties with the PDP’s national leadership.
Party insiders suggest that the NWC’s visit and endorsement signal confidence in Governor Fubara’s leadership and his ability to guide the party to success in future political contests.
