Uzodimma Unveils N756BN 2025 Budget To Imo Assembly

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has presented a proposed budget of N755,588,041,220 for the 2025 fiscal year to the Imo State House of Assembly. The budget, titled the “Budget of Expanded Economic Opportunities,” underscores the administration’s commitment to fostering development and transformation across the state.

During his presentation, Uzodimma reviewed the administration’s achievements over the past five years and reiterated his dedication to advancing the state through the ‘Shared Prosperity Agenda.’

He noted ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and expand critical infrastructure, including the construction of rural roads across the three senatorial zones. Additionally, the governor highlighted plans to ensure uninterrupted electricity through the Imo State Electricity Distribution (ISED) project.

Addressing waterways, Uzodimma confirmed the state’s commitment to dredging the Oguta Lake and Orashi River, with the goal of connecting them to the Atlantic Ocean.

On education, the governor announced plans to transfer the management of schools to religious institutions in 2025 to enhance the quality of education.

In the agricultural sector, Uzodimma emphasized the development of the Achara Ugbu Farmland in Owerri North for large-scale farming to bolster food security. The administration will also support the revitalization of the Ada Palm project to increase palm oil production.

The governor outlined plans for market modernization, mentioning the revitalization of Eke Ukwu Owerri Market and industrial hubs like the Onitsha Industrial Layout and others in Orlu and Okigwe.

Furthermore, Uzodimma disclosed plans to establish new layouts and collaborate with developers to upgrade housing estates for enhanced financial efficiency.

The 2025 budget reflects the administration’s strategic vision for economic growth and sustainable development in Imo State.
