ASA World Spreads Christmas Cheer At Sickle Cell Orphanage And Underprivileged Home Agulu

In the spirit of Christmas, Anambra State Diaspora Worldwide (ASA World) recently visited the Sickle Cell Orphanage and Underprivileged Home Agulu, bringing joy and hope to the children. The organization’s generous donation of drugs, food items, and cash was a testament to their commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.

This is not ASA World’s first show of support for the home. They have consistently demonstrated their dedication to the wellbeing of the children, providing previous donations that have made a significant impact.

Leading the delegation was Hon Tony Ikeotuonye and Hon Chudi Asidianya, ASA Worldwide Vice President and Secretary-general respectively. Others includes Mrs Vera Ikeokwu and the head of the educational department of ASA Worldwide, Mrs Chijie.

In his remark, Hon Chudi Asidianya thanked the children for receiving them warmly, while he emphasized on the importance of promoting genotype education in the society. He advised intending marriage couples with sickle cell traits to have a rethink in their choice of partners, noting that love is not enough.

Chief Tony Ikeotuonye (Ugogbuzue), an illustrious son of Agulu, praised the consistency of the management of the home, saying that he was impressed with the level of dedication. He promised ASA-WORLD’S continue support for the home where necessary.

The Christmas visit was a heartwarming experience for everyone involved. The children’s faces lit up with excitement as they received the gifts, expressing their gratitude for the much-needed supplies.

“We are deeply grateful to ASA-World for their kindness and generosity,” said Mrs. Aisha Edward Maduagwu, National Coordinator and Director of the Sickle Cell Orphanage and Underprivileged Home Agulu. “This donation will go a long way in supporting the health and wellbeing of our children.”

Aisha Edward Maduagwu, also urged other organizations to take a cue from ASA-WORLD and support vulnerable populations in the society.

“ASA-World’s visit and donation serve as a reminder of the importance of giving back to the community, especially during the holiday season,” Aisha noted.
