The Ugwunwasike Ogidi/Ogbunike Building Materials Market is one of the largest building materials markets in Nigeria, attracting customers within Anambra State and across the country. It’s been a hub for trade and commerce in the state. However, for years, bad roads plagued the market, including flooding, potholes, and heavy traffic, causing delays and hardships for traders, buyers, and residents, who spent countless hours navigating the treacherous paths, their journeys filled with frustration and delays especially as the road connects four major communities—Ogidi, Ogbunike, Abatete , Nkpor —as well as the federal highway.
Recognizing the importance of this road, Governor Soludo prioritized its reconstruction. Today, the road has been completely transformed into a smooth and durable road network, improving traffic flow and reducing travel time significantly. Flooding is no longer a concern, and the market has regained its full potential.
This project highlights the Governor’s commitment to improving lives and boosting the local economy. These actions have reminded us all that leadership is not about promises but about delivering solutions that touch lives.
