AIF Media has been reliably informed that President Tinubu has approved the sacking of Amb Greg Mbadiwe, Chairman, Governing Council of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, UNIZIK Awka.
The sacking is not unconnected with the crisis over the appointment of the University Vice Chancellor.
The approval by Mr President for the termination of Amb Mbadiwe’s appointment has voided the appointment of Prof Bernard Odoh as the Vice Chancellor of the university and all other appointments and imposition of his lackey as the Registrar of the University.
It is unfortunate that Prof Soludo endorsed the impunity that took place in UNIZIK. At the 13th edition, Annual Zik Lecture Series, Governor Soludo represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyeka Ibezim expressed optimism that the illegally appointment Vice-Chancellor will fulfill his plans for the institution and went ahead to pledge their solidarity and support to the administration of Prof Benard Odoh.
We commend the leaders of ASUU Anambra state chapter, Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria(MDCAN) and other relevant stakeholders who protested against the impunity and imposition of Bernard Odoh as the Vice Chancellor of the university.
A university community is a citadel of learning where things are done properly. We therefore commend Mr President for his intervention.
