Earlier on Wednesday, the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR paid an unscheduled visit to Nkwo Umunze market where he reassured the traders of his commitment towards ensuring an end to the infamous Monday Sit-at-Home.

Governor Soludo had in the past weeks issued a directive to end the Monday Sit-at-Home syndrome in the State with the promise to providing adequate security in and around markets across the State.

In line with the directive, the Mayor of Orumba South local government area, Hon. Shedrack Azubuike, last week, stormed Nkwo Umunze Market to evaluate the implementation of the Governor’s directive, which he said, was encouraging.

Speaking at the Nkwor Umunze market, Governor Soludo made it clear that an end has come for the Sit-at-Home mentality, urging the people to cooperate with the government at all levels to ensure that insecurity is brought to the barest minimum in the State.

He called on Ndi Umunze to be vigilant at all times and imbibe the habit of local security watch to ensure adequate security of their markets and localities.

Responding, the People’s Mayor, Hon. Azubuike made it clear that government will not sit back and watch the economy and the people of the state to suffer, while charging them to make a bold step towards taking back their land from the hands of evil perpetrators.

Highlight of the visit was a personal purchase of assorted items by Governor Soludo at Nkwor Umunze market, which was full of activities today.
