….Assures Of Improved Security Across Onitsha North LGA.
In a significant move ahead of the upcoming local government elections, the Chairmanship Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Onitsha North LGA, Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora, earlier today led a delegation of APGA faithfuls to pay a courtesy visit to the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe (Agbogidi) at his palace.
The visit aimed to formally present his team and seek royal blessings as they prepare for the elections scheduled for September 28, 2024.
The visit began with the traditional breaking of kolanuts by Igwe Achebe, who offered prayers for blessings upon the land and its residents.
In his speech, Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora expressed gratitude to Igwe Achebe for welcoming him and his entourage.
He shared insights about the upcoming Anambra State Local Government Elections and emphasized his commitment to improving the security architecture in the commercial city of Onitsha.
He commended the collaboration among security service chiefs and local vigilantes in identifying and addressing security challenges in Onitsha North LGA.
He concluded by assuring Agbogidi and residents of his dedication to providing quality leadership when elected.
Hon. Patrick Agha Mba, Commissioner for Youth Development in Anambra State, also addressed the gathering, praising Igwe Achebe for his exemplary leadership.
He underscored Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s efforts to empower the Youths through initiatives like the “1 Youth, 2 Skills” programme and urged the community to support Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora in the upcoming election.
Chief Ojinaka Uzoechina, APGA Zonal Vice Chairman for Anambra North, called for the election of capable leaders to ensure progress in the LGA, reiterating that APGA is the party of Ndigbo, known for delivering meaningful governance to Ndi Anambra, since it took over leadership in the state.
Addressing the gathering HRM, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe (Agbogidi) acknowledged the critical nature of local government elections and the need for autonomy as highlighted by a recent Supreme Court ruling.
He offered valuable advice to Hon. Nwora and bestowed his royal blessings upon the APGA Chairmanship Candidate and all the 15 Councillorship Candidates of the party.
During the visit, Hon. Ejiofor Egwuatu, Secretary of Onitsha North LGA, introduced the personalities in attendance to the Obi of Onitsha
In a vote of thanks, Chief Okwy Maduekwe (Prof), Chairman of APGA in Onitsha North LGA, expressed appreciation to Igwe Achebe for receving the delegation and for his blessings on the candidates.
Prominent attendees included Ndi Ichie, PG Onitsha Chief Nnamdi Ekweogwu, Hon. Nnamdi Onukuba (Ugochukwudebelu), Former Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. The event concluded with a photo sessions featuring the Obi of Onitsha Security Chiefs, APGA Chairmanship Candidate, his Deputy, Councillorship Candidates and party faithfuls.
