The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has refuted claims that it denied registration to Science and Laboratory Technology (SLT) graduates at its Gombe State orientation camp.
The reports alleged that polytechnic graduates who studied SLT were turned away due to lacking professional certificates from the National Institute for Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT).
However, the Gombe State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Chinwe Nwachuku, dismissed the claims as “untrue and baseless.”
She confirmed that all SLT graduates who reported to the camp were registered and are currently undergoing their orientation course.
Mrs. Nwachuku emphasized that the NYSC headquarters had directed that all graduates be registered, regardless of whether they possess a license or not.
She stated that some SLT graduates did arrive without licenses, but they were still registered.
This clarification aims to alleviate concerns and misconceptions surrounding the registration process for SLT graduates in Gombe State.
