The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of planning to recruit fake staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to manipulate the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) during the September 21 governorship election.
PDP State Chairman, Dr. Anthony Aziegbemi, alleged that the party’s intelligence unit uncovered the APC’s plan to recruit youths as fake INEC staff to tamper with the BVAS machine on election day.
The APC has denied the allegations, claiming that the PDP is trying to distract attention from its own plans to rig the election.
INEC has announced a stakeholders’ meeting on September 11 to address the concerns.
