Group Calls For Probe Into Alleged Gunrunner’s Links To Government Officials

Citizens United Against Terrorism (CUAT) has demanded a thorough investigation into reports that Bashir Hadejia, an alleged gunrunner and suspected cross-border criminal, has links to government officials.

Hadejia, a former aide to the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, was arrested by security operatives recently, sparking concerns.

Photos and videos of Hadejia with prominent politicians and celebrities have raised anxiety among citizens.

CUAT convener, Dr. Emmanuel Agabi, commended the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for effecting Hadejia’s arrest but called for a thorough investigation into his accomplices, including those in government. The group urged President Bola Tinubu to relieve any appointees or cabinet members named as accomplices by Hadejia.

CUAT described Hadejia as a “mere mask” in a larger plot to destroy Nigeria, demanding that his “puppet masters” be revealed.

The group emphasized that Hadejia’s arrest is only the beginning and that his connections in government must be exposed and prosecuted.

The group expressed concern about Hadejia’s access to highly placed individuals in government, stating that Nigerians demand justice and will not tolerate any attempts to protect him.
