The Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Udeh has commended the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South local government area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi for the giant strides in the council area especially in education.

She made this statement during the commissioning of infrastructures for basic education, stating that Governor Charles Soludo’s administration is committed to the development of the state’s education sector.

Professor Udeh noted that, administration of Governor Soludo is convinced that teaching and learning can only be effective when the environment is conducive and it explains Hon. Obi commitment to the provision of new desk to primary schools and rehabilitation of Central school Enuogwugwu Ojoto.

In her welcome address, Hon. Obi expressed her gratitude to the people of the council area, stating that the annual celebration of the African child in extention Idemili children is to remind us that the future of our society lies on our children.

She said, it is essential that the welfare and the upbringing of our children educationally, morally, emotionally and character wise should be of paramount consideration hence the awareness of the challenges that our children face.

She added that, celebration of African Child is an opportunity of parents and guardians to celebrate the realization of the rights of our children, issues affecting them and how to protect them, their education and integrity, adding that Governor Charles Soludo CFR earlier makes education accessible to every child in Anambra and also declared free antenatal care and free delivery services in the state.

Highlight of the event was commissioning of Central school Enuogwugwu Ojoto and distribution of desk to schools in the council area.

The event was attended by Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Udeh, Permanent Secretary Of Education, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu, His Royal Highness, Igwe Gerald Mbamalu ably represented by Igwe Ototo, APGA Deputy Chairman, Hon. Celestine Unigwe, past and present councillors, HLGA, Mr. Kelvin Anazodo, ward party executive, Prince Chibueze Okoli, leader of Contact and Mobilization, Prince Dozie Okafor, Oba President General, Chief Uzo Ejiofor, President Generals, Community Women Leaders, Youth Leaders, support groups and many others.
