Killing Of Community Leaders: Uzodimma Vows To Bring Perpetrators To Book

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of community leaders in Umucheke, Okwe, Onuimo Local Government Area.

The governor also pledged to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book and made to face the full weight of the law.

The tragic incident occurred when gunmen on three motorbikes attacked a gathering of community leaders on Saturday, resulting in the death of eight people and injuring three others.

It was gathered that the victims, including the President of their community and village heads, were meeting to discuss development and political stability when they were attacked.

Reacting over the development, Governor Uzodimma, emphasized that no one should perish in such a manner, anywhere in the state, and has vowed to arrest and prosecute those responsible for this heinous act.

He said, “We will not rest until those responsible for this heinous act are apprehended and brought to book”.
