The Martin-Amaewhule-led Rivers State House of Assembly has shut all expenditure by the Rivers State Government from the Consolidated Revenue Fund until Governor Sim Fubara presents the 2024 budget to the House for passage.
They reached the decision during plenary on Monday in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
This is coming after the ultimatum given to governor Fubara to re-present the 2024 budget to the House elapsed today
Fubara had declared that he would not re-present the budget, that infact he is already working on the 2025 budget of the state.
Governor Fubara and his predecessor Nyesom Wike have been having a running battle which has also rubbed off negatively on their supporters.
