Jamie Vardy has signed a one year contract with Premier League club Leicester City.

Vardy has played for Leicester since 2012 and has scored 190 goals in over 450 appearances.

The 37-year-old won the Premier League with the club in 2015-16.

Leicester have also secured the signature of Centre-back Jannik Vestergaard until the summer of 2027, while Marc Albrighton, Kelechi Iheanacho and Dennis Praet will leave the club as free agents.

Former England striker Vardy has also won the FA Cup, Community Shield and two Championship titles with Leicester, including last season, earning his side promotion to the Premier League.

Vardy won 26 England caps, with his last coming in 2018.

Denmark international Vestergaard, who joined the Foxes from Southampton in August 2021, made 42 Championship appearances for the club last season.

Winger Albrighton, 34, leaves the club after 10 years in which he made 313 appearances and won the Premier League, FA Cup, Community Shield and Championship title.

Nigeria forward Iheanacho, 27, scored 61 goals in his seven-year spell at Leicester, while 30-year-old Belgian midfielder Praet leaves the club after 107 appearances.

The Foxes say they remain in discussions with Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, 27, about his future – with his contract set to expire.
