Ahead of the November 11 off Cycle governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states, President Bola Tinubu has handed the flag of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over to three candidates of the party.
The candidates are Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo, who is running for a second term; Timipre Sylva for Bayelsa and Usman Ododo for Kogi state.
The event, which was held inside the Banquet Hall of the State House, had the national chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), and some guests of the candidates in attendance.
In the meantime the House of Representatives has asked President Bola Tinubu to call political parties in Bayelsa State to order ahead of the November 11 governorship election.
This is sequel to a motion of urgent public importance by Hon Marie Enenimiefe drawing attention of the House to possible unrest in the state in the build up to the election. He wants the National Security Adviser to swing into action to guarantee a peaceful election in the state.
